Massimo Laveglia is the founder, master pizzaiolo, and co-owner of L’Industrie Pizzeria, who expanded his cult-favorite brand from Williamsburg to outposts in the West Village and Little Italy.

Originally moving from Florence, Italy, to pursue soccer, Laveglia pivoted to pizza in 2017 and pioneered a “new-school slice” by marrying high-hydration Italian dough techniques with the fast-casual New York City format.

He is the creative force behind the menu, enforcing a strict rule that no slice sits out for more than 10 minutes and ensuring every order is finished with premium ingredients like fresh burrata and imported prosciutto.

His visionary approach has redefined the city’s pizza landscape, garnering a massive global following and major industry accolades, including Pizza Today’s 2026 Pizzeria of the Year and the No. 1 Slice in the United States from 50 Top Pizza.
